New Documentary Series to be Source of Good News About Alternative Energy

Medford, OR (PRWeb) January 17, 2007 -- Veracity Productions, Inc., a documentary film production company with an award-winning crew, today announced the 2007 debut of Energy Rush: Innovators & Entrepreneurs, a three-episode series, produced in partnership with COBI Digital HD studios, that focuses on the good news about alternative energy.

"These documentaries go well beyond mere technical information to highlight the human passion behind the revolution that is impacting every aspect of our lives," said Paul Steinbroner, executive producer. "Each segment will feature four pioneers in their fields who, through this rapidly changing technology, are striving to reduce the political, economic, and environmental liability of the carbon-based economy."

Joining Steinbroner in the new venture is long-time collaborator, David Kirschner. Kirschner, a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, has produced numerous documentary films, primarily for FORBES Magazine. His work includes the road trip "Motorcycle and Hot Air Balloon" series with the late Malcolm S. Forbes which aired on PBS and the Fox Networks.

Steinbroner, founder and owner of CNS Productions, Inc. has worked for years with Dr. Darryl Inaba, former CEO of the San Francisco-based Haight-Ashbury Drug Detoxification and Aftercare Clinic to produce textbooks and a comprehensive video library of substance abuse information titles. His work has garnered international attention and a host of grand prizes for creative excellence.

The Veracity Productions, Inc. team is working on the series and future projects with NW Emmy-nominated COBI Digital HD. The studio's history dates back to 1933, when the parent corporation, COBI, was founded by legendary broadcast pioneer William B. Smullin, who started in radio and then put the first VHF television station in the state of Oregon on the air in 1953. COBI branched off into the world of High Definition in 2002.

"The United States is suffering from addiction to foreign oil and dependence on massive energy consumption," said Steinbroner. "Creating this documentary was a logical extension of my previous work in substance abuse. Where we now find ourselves in terms of energy use is not unlike the addict who discovers, usually too late, that his habit requires every greater amounts of product to satisfy."

The goal of this program, according to producers, is to instill in its audience a sense of where we've been, where we are, and where we can be with respect to transportation, energy efficiency, and the economy. Recent well-received documentary features make the problem of global warming and a need for change very obvious. Now, we're in the implementation stage - putting the change into action. The "rush" to introduce new ideas, technology and solutions to the crisis known as the impending "end of oil" is made possible by a fascinating group of human subjects, who are indeed innovators and entrepreneurs. This series puts the spotlight directly on those, key individuals, and the "good news" about their work and progress.

"We are pursuing a variety of broadcast opportunities, including IP-TV, to showcase this important and timely content," said Steinbroner. "At the same time, we are talking to a number of potential series' sponsors about the opportunities the content presents for brand managers."

Veracity Productions, Inc. is dedicated to the producing high quality, well researched, timely and germane documentary content for multiple platforms, including: television broadcast, Internet Protocol broadcast, Web sites, and hand-held devices. The company can be reached by telephone at: 541-773-5492, or via fax at: 541-773-5905.
